Try installing a fire-proof and water-proof safe. Alternatively you could have a lock box at your bank or solicitors, for a monthly fee.
Keep copies of these documents at a seperate location.

• doors locked
• check the boot
• park sensibly where others are around (paid carparks are usually safer)
• use an alarm or steering wheel lock
• Always check back seat when returning
